The Grapes is one of Southampton’s most historic public houses and, famously, a backdrop to the film Titanic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslett.
Legend has it that six crew members of The Titanic, including three brothers, were drinking in the pub before setting sail. After a few pints of ale, they lost track of time and missed the ill-fated passage.
Formally a haunt for sailors and seafaring folk of all types, The Grapes now fits into the more modern cosmopolitan feel of Oxford Street’s “Café Culture”.
The Grapes still has the all important traditional feel of a proper boozer but with a modern twist.
The pool table, live music with Sky Sports & TNT Sports showing on big screens inside and outside the pub, contribute to the popularity of the venue.

We serve a wide range of national and local real ales and have a splendid wine list selected by Elegant Wines and a wine preservation system that ensures a perfect glass every time.
We also have a excellent range of spirits including some local favourites from The Isle of Wight Distillery.
At The Grapes we are real sport fans and show a wide range of sports to accommodate all tastes. We have 5 large screens inside and 2 large screens outside.
There is a strong Southampton F.C. following
(we are a 15 minute walk to the stadium)
and on home games we are always packed with a friendly atmosphere and many families and children in attendance.
The Grapes also has four rooms that have simple furnishings, flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms, plus tea and coffee making equipment.
